Poster Making Workshop & Walk to Flag Raising in Lunenburg

* The Lunenburg Academy Foundation and the Lunenburg Library invite you to our Castle on the Hill to make posters and show your Pride. Join us as we make posters at the Lunenburg Academy to honour the diverse identities within Lunenburg. Then, we will meet at the town hall at noon for the flag raising. We will provide markers and bristol board, but feel free to bring your own materials to add a little pizzazz to your poster.

RIDE Lunenburg County celebrates their annual comedy extravaganza in Chester, with a fantastic line-up of hilarious East Coast comedians for Laugh out PROUD! Tickets can be purchased from Chester Playhouse.

* Accessibility: ASL Interpreters, the main floor of the Playhouse is fully accessible, with a chair lift in the lobby. Celebrate Lunenburg Pride Week by exploring the art of cyanotype printing in an outdoor setting! You'll learn the fascinating cyanotype process, a photographic printing technique that produces stunning blue prints. This drop-in workshop is the perfect opportunity to get creative and express yourself! Connect with others and learn something new in a relaxed and welcoming environment. All materials will be provided, and you'll leave with your very own pride-themed cyanotype prints.

Queer Hike
Join us for a queer hike along a beautiful 6.6 KM trail outside of Lunenburg. The footpath is rugged and hiking boots or sneakers are suggested.

* Accessibility: To access the trail first we must go over sand or a steep pasture, and the trail has various rough terrain. There will be various hiking/walking speeds welcome, and you are not required to hike the entire trail to participate.

Elle Noir
Chris Cochrane is a Trans Black activist and public speaker. Shespeaks and educates about her lived experience through herintersectionality . Chris works toward creating spaces for QTBIPOCpeople, as well as working with 2SLGBTIQIA+ youth to ensure those spaces will be upheld for years to come. Chris is the former Vice Chair of Halifax Pride (2020-2022) where she uses that platform to ensure equity for all of the community ,while focusing on our marginalized and racialized communities .Chris is also the Recipient of The YMCA Peace Medal for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. Known for her drag persona Elle Noir, where she is as fierce on stage as she is her activism .Elle Noir is a 19 Year veteran of Drag . Known as a local legend and Winner of The Best Halifax Drag Performer for the last 6 years consecutively

Cookie Cunningham
Cookie Cunningham is a drag king of flare and style, he likes to shake it up and shake things loose, so always prepare for something to come off. When professor utonium put this one together after the powerpuff girls, the ingredients mixed to make Cookie Cunningham, where black excellence, sensuality and a whole lot of confidence. His drag is a an equation of prince + the greatest showman + jojo’s bizarre adventures = Cookie Cunningham

Queera Bang
Queera Bang is a non-binary Drag Performer, producer, host, and activist based in the Annapolis Valley. Queera is known for flying around on their skates, ridiculous on the mic, mixed with a little camp and femme energy. They produce and speak about creating spaces for queer folks in rural areas that go beyond the binary and commercial views of both queerness and drag. In Queera’s day to day life they are a founder and events coordinator for Valley Pride. When they're not busy dazzling the crowd, they're probably trying to teach their chickens how to roller skate!

Hannibal Lickeder
Hannibal Lickeder is a non-binary drag performer based out of the South Shore of Nova Scotia. They combine their art background with punk glam, camp and a bit of horror to explore both their masc and femme sides. They always bring high energy, fun looks and a load of creativity.
